Pennsylvania’s Education for All Coalition, Inc. (PEAC) is a community of parents, educators, individuals with disabilities and professionals who believe that children of all backgrounds and abilities should be successfully educated together in their neighborhood schools within the general education curriculum. In short, PEAC believes in inclusive education. PEAC also believes that collaboration between parents and educators is the best way to create successful inclusive experiences for students with disabilities, so we support the education and empowerment of parents as well as teachers.

PEAC provides the following services through partnerships with education faculty at local universities, the Parent Consultant Network (PCN), and funding from the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council:

  • One-on-one support for families who need help securing an appropriate education for their children.
  • Workshops that educate both families and teachers on special education law, best inclusive practices, and family-educator collaboration.
  • Training and professional development for schools and teachers.
  • Guest lectures by Parent Consultants for education students at local universities.

We are a partnership of parents, educators, related professionals, and others who believe that children of all backgrounds and abilities should be successfully educated together in their neighborhood schools within the general education curriculum.

Mission Statement:

We work together to promote education that includes ALL children by providing individual technical assistance, advocacy and supports to families, assisting institutions of higher education better prepare teachers to effectively teach ALL children, and influencing and supporting schools, policymakers, and the community to effectively implement inclusive practices and policies.

Our History

PEAC began in 2000 when a group of concerned parents and professionals who shared a belief in inclusive education gathered at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University. Based on the straightforward idea of educating ALL children in the least restrictive environment, these parents and professionals founded Pennsylvania’s Education for All Coalition as a grassroots group with the intention of making their work a beacon of inclusive practices in the Commonwealth. PEAC has grown into an independent coalition, officially incorporating in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2004 and receiving designation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2007. Now supported by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and a Project Coordinator, PEAC implements an Educational Rights Grant from the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council, maintains supportive partnerships with local school districts and universities, and manages the Parent Consultant Network.
