PEAC Poster Session at TASH 11/30/10

PEAC President Diane Perry travelled to the TASH Conference in Denver!

Diane and long-time PEAC partner Dr. Jerry Petroff, Professor of Special Education at The College of New Jersey, presented a poster on PEAC's collaboration with college and universities to better prepare teachers to teach all children.

 

PEAC announces the 2010 Creegn Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education

PEAC is very excited to announce the second annual Patricia J. Creegan Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education. The award is given annually to an educator in Pensylvania who demonstrates outstanding committment to inclusive educaiton. Leah M. Kostelac, a special education teacher in the West Shore School District, received the 2009 award. In order to recognize colleges and universities that are teaching Pennsylvania's future eduacators how to include students with disabilities and collaborate with parents, the 2010 Creegan Award will be given to faculty member at an institute of higher education.

Aligning Your IEP With State Standards

PEAC sponsored a workshop titled "Aligning Your IEP With State Standards" on Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Holy Family University.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Brian Berry of Holy Family University and was open to all parents, teachers, students, paraprofessionals, and administrators.

Special Education Law: Building Blocks and Basics

PEAC would like to thank Sallie Lynagh and the Disability Rights Network for making our April 4 workshop, "Special Education Law: Building Blocks and Basics" workshop a success!

A group of 30+ parents and teachers attended the workshop, which was held at Maple Glen Elementary School in Maple Glen, PA, to learn and review the most important information in special education law. PEAC Members will be able to access the workshop materials on our website very soon!

We would also like to thank Upper Dublin School District for their support of our work and for hosting the workshop.
